How can a cage
protect your rabbit
A rabbit cage should protect your rabbit from the elements and from predators.
An outdoor rabbit cage should have a roof and removable sides to protect your pet from wind, rain, snow and sleet. The roof needs to be at a slant so that rain and snow can slide off easily. You can use plastic sheeting to cover the sides as a wind break.
Your cage should be sturdy enough that predators cannot gain entrance. Your bunny needs to feel safe in its home. Wire cages should use at least 16 gauge wire, 1/2 X 1" grid for the floor and 1 X 1" or 1 X 2" for the sides and top.
