Ruby Eyed White
by: Donald

The New Zealand whites used to be the most popular but have been replaced by most with the Florida White because their smaller size makes housing so much more affordable. They also eat quite a bit less, just over half as much so again costs are lowered and labor is reduced due to the smaller amount of droppings.

The Florida White is a good breeder and a good mother. The does produce almost as large a litter as the New Zealand so reproduction is only sightly reduced, easily offset by keeping a few extra does.

The color is referred to as REW (Ruby Eyed White). There are a few people that feel the red eyes indicate evil or possession, but they are simply albinos.
